Priya is a fascinating insect. She can be handled by older kids providing they won't panic and flick their hand. She can fly so this would only be possible in a secure room. She loves her food and is a ferocious hunter. It is very fascinating to watch her ninja reactions and when she starts to devour her cricket. We have even managed to watch the fascinating process of her laying eggs!!!!!

They get their name, 'praying mantis' from the position they hold themselves in. They look like they are praying.
